Rich Coast Realty is a company based upon Integrity and Service. We offer Professional Real Estate and Construction services as well as Service to the Community in which we live. We sponsor at the moment 2 different Community Service Programs in the Parrita area:
Annual Christmas Gift Giveaway: Last year (2010) while talking with a friend about 10 days before Christmas we decided that we could in the next 10 days organize a gift giving program and distribute on Christmas Eve as many gifts to locl needy children as possible. We began an email marketing campaign and in 10 days raised nearly $2000 with which we bought, wrapped and distributed gifts to over 150 children from the neediest areas of Parrita. The children were thrilled and the overall project was a great success with only 10 days planning, and the efforts of 4 volunteers who bought, wrapped for about 12 hours and then distributed the gifts. This year (2011) we are planning to start in the middle of November and have fundraisers to raise additional money so that we can make Christmas a very special day fopr even more local children.
If you would like to make a cash contribution to the 2011 Gift Giveaway contact Rich Coast Realty for more information. This is a not for profit program and Rich Coast Realty also makes a large contribution to the purchase of gifts and administers the purchase wrapping and distribution. Join our Christmas Gift Giveaway Mailing List to receive updates about the program or for information about making a contribution.
Sponsor a Needy Childs Education: This is a new program that we are still in the stages of planning with local teachers and government officials. In my time living in Parrita and while i was a volunteer english teacher at a local elementary school i frequently was confronted with students of mine and children in the local area that finished elementary school and then chose not to continue their education, a decision that at 12 years old i hardly think they are qualified to make. Upon further investigation i learned that while education is free in Costa Rica the students have to pay for their uniforms and that their families sometimes need them to be working to help the family and dont see the value of education to their lives. I consider these children at risk and have seen several of the students in this situation eventually end up going down the wrong path in life, a path that might have been avoided had they had the proper encouragement and opportunites that they deserve. So together with some local educators and dedicated government officials we are planning a Student Sponsoring Program to help these students with the basic necessities to continue with their education; uniforms, school supplies, etc. But our program doesnt stop there; each student in the program will be required to meet weekly with a mentor, and tutors if necessary to ensure that our sponsored students have the best opportunities and support we can offer to them. We also regularly communicate with our sponsored students families to make sure that the lines of communication are open between the students families and our project coordinators. We expect this program to commence in August 2011. more information to follow....
